Yoga practices can be vigorous or gentle, energizing or calming. Those who exercise to encourage radiant health may often wonder how much exercise is enough and how much is too much. Exercise theory tells us that we must move our bodies to maintain bone health, muscle strength, and range of motion. However, overdoing exercise can sometimes lead to injury. The practice of Yin and Yang yoga is a complementary practice of stillness and movement, which provides the student feedback and wisdom to understand what is enough. The answer can be surprising!
Adaptive Yoga for Seniors

Learning to teach yoga to older adults safely and mindfully is becoming an increasingly important skill. In this training, led by Misako Matsuoka, C-IAYT E-RYT 500, you will learn strategies for adapting yoga practices for older adults with a focus on bone health and balance. The format of the training will be lecture, movement, practice-teaching sessions, and discussion.
