In this workshop, Misako Matsuoka will guide you in the practice of Yin and Yang Yoga emphasizing the postures beneficial for the low back. We will explore why the functional anatomy determines the compression or tension in the body and how you can modify postures for your unique bone structure. You will learn actions to stabilize and strengthen your low back and core. You will leave with sequences that you can use for your home practice.
Yin & Yang Yoga is mellow, meditative, and healing practice. Yin yoga uses passive, long-held floor poses. Yin yoga not only lengthens the muscles and but allows you to nourish and strengthen the deeper tissues as well as balancing the energetic meridians. Yang yoga encompasses strengthening and stabilizing the joints as well as increasing the range of motion.
Yin & Yang Yoga is suitable for all levels, including beginners.
Fee $45 advance for Bay Club members; $55 for non-members.
